Delicious Ham and Cheese Sticks: A Comprehensive Guide

Ham and Cheese Sticks

Ham and cheese sticks are a delightful snack that combines savory ham with creamy cheese, wrapped in a golden, crispy exterior, perfect for parties or a quick snack.

Ingredients

  • Deli-sliced ham (or preferred type, smoked/honey/prosciutto)
  • Cheese sticks or sliced cheddar, mozzarella, or Swiss cheese
  • Crescent roll dough or puff pastry
  • Melted butter or garlic butter
  • Optional: garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, cayenne pepper, or crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the crescent dough and cut into triangles.
  3. Place a slice of ham and a cheese stick on the wider end of each triangle.
  4. Roll the dough around the ham and cheese, sealing the edges.
  5. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with optional seasonings.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. For fried version: wrap ham around cheese sticks, secure with toothpicks, dip in flour, egg, breadcrumbs, and fry until golden brown.
  8. Drain fried sticks on paper towels and serve hot.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days. Reheat in oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes to restore crispiness. For long-term storage, freeze uncooked sticks on a baking sheet before transferring to a freezer bag.
