Alt Text: DIY Moscow Mule Mix in Copper Mug

Two zesty and versatile ginger-based mixers you can craft at home: a bold DIY Moscow Mule mix and a refreshing herb-infused ginger soda, perfect for elevating any cocktail or mocktail.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint or basil (for infusion)
  • Sparkling water
  • Optional: vodka or gin for cocktails

Instructions

  1. For DIY Moscow Mule Mix: In a saucepan, combine ginger, sugar, water, and lemon zest. Simmer for 15 minutes until slightly thickened. Cool, strain, and stir in lime juice. Store chilled.
  2. For Herb-Infused Ginger Soda: Use the same syrup base. While still warm, add fresh mint or basil and let steep 10 minutes. Strain and refrigerate. Mix with sparkling water to serve.
  3. To serve: Pour 2–3 tbsp syrup over ice, top with sparkling water or mix with vodka for a classic cocktail twist.

Notes

Keep the syrup refrigerated for up to a week. Adjust sweetness and citrus to your taste. Try rosemary or thyme for a more aromatic twist.
