Ingredients

  • 1 thumb-size piece of fresh ginger, sliced
  • 2 green tea bags
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 cups water
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Iced Ginger-Green Tea: Boil 2 cups of water with half the ginger slices. Steep green tea bags in hot water with ginger for 5 minutes. Chill, then pour over ice and sweeten with honey if desired.
  2. Ginger-Mint Cooler: Muddle mint with a few ginger slices. Add lemon juice and a touch of honey. Fill glass with ice and top with cold water or sparkling water.
  3. Spiced Hot Ginger Brew: Simmer remaining ginger in 2 cups water with cinnamon and cloves for 10 minutes. Strain, sweeten, and serve warm.

Notes

Use fresh ginger for maximum flavor. Each drink can be adapted to taste—add citrus, more spice, or a splash of juice.
