This gingery, garlicky, umami-packed marinade brings out the best in your chicken—perfect for grilling, baking, or stir-frying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons freshly grated ginger
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar or lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha (optional, for heat)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together all the marinade ingredients until well combined.
  2. Place your chicken pieces in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish.
  3. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are coated.
  4. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (overnight for best results).
  5. Cook the chicken using your preferred method: grill, bake, or pan-fry until fully cooked.

Notes

This marinade works great with thighs, breasts, or wings. Save extra marinade (before adding chicken) to use as a sauce or glaze!
