Ingredients
  

Red Velvet Waffles
  • 1 packet red velvet cake mix 13.25oz package
  • 1 ml water as called for on the box
  • 1 ml oil as called for on the box
  • 1 g eggs as called for on the box
Cream Cheese Topping
  • 113 g cream cheese softened
  • 56 g butter softened
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk adjust to desired consistency

Equipment

  • Waffle Iron
  • Mixing bowl
  • Hand mixer

Method
 

  1. Plug in your waffle iron and let it heat up. Spray generously with non-stick spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the red velvet cake mix with the box ingredients (eggs, oil, and water). Stir until smooth.
  3. Pour batter into the center of the preheated waffle iron, about ½ to ¾ cup per waffle. Close the lid and cook for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Remove the waffle using tongs or a fork. Repeat with remaining batter, re-spraying the waffle iron as needed.
  5. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together with a hand mixer until smooth.
  6. Gradually mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Slowly add milk to reach desired consistency.
  7. Drizzle the glaze over warm red velvet waffles and serve.

Notes

For an extra touch, sprinkle some cocoa powder or add a dollop of whipped cream on top of the waffles.
